This is a very cool expansion of analytics that will allow YouTube Studio users to take a deeper look at what is being searched for, both across the app and in relation to your niche.
Here’s a look at the update:
3. Meta may have to sell off Giphy
This is interesting. From the BBC:
The CMA said: “After consulting with interested businesses and organisations – and assessing alternative solutions put forward by Facebook – the CMA has concluded that its competition concerns can only be addressed by Facebook selling Giphy in its entirety to an approved buyer.”
Meta didn’t like this ruling and says that they are looking at options, including appealing the ruling.

4. An updated Twitter policy aims to address use of private media and depictions of individuals
It looks like Twitter is trying to find a way to combat information spread that is not “abusive” as defined by the current policies. Things like private documents, personal information, etc. that are posted without consent are now in violation. From Twitter:
While our existing policies and Twitter Rules cover explicit instances of abusive behavior, this update will allow us to take action on media that is shared without any explicit abusive content, provided it’s posted without the consent of the person depicted. This is a part of our ongoing work to align our safety policies with human rights standards, and it will be enforced globally starting today.
5. Instagram is actively testing longer video in Stories
Some users are seeing Stories with a 60 second limit. This is a big upgrade from the 15 second limit that currently exists, and is ver in line with their push to streamline Instagram Video. Instagram to Social Media News:
“The ability to create longer Stories posts comes highly requested by our community. We’re excited to be testing 60-second Stories so that people can create and view Stories with fewer interruptions.”
